Why Cleanse in the Fall?
By Deva Shantay
Traditional Ayurveda recommends seasonal digestive resets to nourish, balance and replenish the body, mind and soul. Fall cleansing supports the digestive fire and can help prevent winter sickness. Cleansing is key to maintaining health by reducing accumulated toxins acquired though dietary choices and environmental pollutions/chemicals we come in contact with all year long.
During fall, nature is preparing to go to sleep. Vata dosha governs fall and winter and brings cold and dry qualities—leaves falling, wind blowing and temperatures dropping. The light is also changing and with that brings the urge to go inward, rest and enjoy longer evenings—hopefully inside by a fire with a warm cup of tea!
Notice what you crave during this time of the year—warm sweaters, wool hats, candles and hot tea might sound quite nice. Fall is also known as soup season and that’s no surprise considering warm, moist, grounding soups, support balancing the excess cold and dry qualities of fall. The Ayurvedic Fall Reset was designed to support reducing and removing toxins while supporting rejuvenation. The nourishing diet, self-care routines and practices offered in the Fall Reset give a whole-body approach to cleansing and rejuvenation in a supportive environment.
Ayurveda is an ancient transformational science that teaches us how to live in harmony with our unique constitution (proportion of the five elements), our lives and with nature. A seasonal reset supports the removal of toxins from the body, brings clarity to the mind, improves energy and vitality, and promotes regular and balanced elimination for optimal health.
The Fall Reset begins October 1st-9th. There is still time to sign-up. Take a week to connect more deeply and nourish yourself.
